Dr. Ludi Miao earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Tulane University, and BA in physics from Peking University. After his Ph.D., he was a postdoctoral researcher in Pennsylvania State University and Cornell University. Before joining NMSU, he was assistant research scientist at the Quantum Materials Center, University of Maryland for a short period of time.
Dr. Miao's research interest focuses on the designing and synthesis of thin film materials, in searching for and engineering their exotic properties such as magnetism, superconductivity, topological states. His research aims to create solid state materials with desired properties by design, for next generation device applications such as quantum computing and information storage and processing
