Research Interests
Dr. Vasiliev's areas of expertise include solid state physics, chemical physics, and computational materials science. His research interests focus on theoretical studies of the structural, electronic, optical, magnetic, and electrochemical properties of complex functional materials. Examples of such materials include metal oxides and hydroxides, perovskites, nanostructured and amorphous materials, glasses, and composites. Dr. Vasiliev’s calculations are carried out using a wide range of computational techniques with the emphasis on ab initio methods based on density functional theory.
