Neutrino oscillations in supernovae and neutron star mergers

Both core-collapse supernovae and neutron star mergers emit copious amounts of neutrinos and produce heavy elements for the universe. It is widely believed that the phenomenon of neutrino oscillations, where neutrinos change their identities during flight, may influence the nucleosynthesis in these extreme astrophysical events. However, the exact nature of this phenomenon and its impact remain elusive. In this talk, I will review the intriguing journey, yet full of surprises, that we have undertaken in studying neutrino oscillations in these extreme environments. I will also discuss potential future solutions to this intriguing problem.
