Title:

Unveiling the 'Cosmic' Interior of Nucleons at the Electron-Ion Collider

 

 

Abstract:

Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) stands as the theory governing the strong interactions that bind quarks and gluons, collectively known as partons, to construct nucleons - the fundamental building blocks of visible matter. Achieving a profound understanding of the partonic structure of nucleons is a crucial milestone, and the forthcoming Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is poised to be the ultimate tool in nuclear physics for this purpose. In this presentation, I will explore the physics goals we intend to accomplish with the EIC, aiming to comprehensively unveil the partonic 'cosmic' interior of nucleons. Furthermore, I will explore two of my research endeavors, aiming to address pivotal questions such as "How can we measure the orbital motion of partons within nucleons?" and "How can we cost-effectively produce tomographic images of partonic distributions?" These inquiries are integral to comprehending the origin of nucleon spin from partonic distributions and nucleon tomography, laying the groundwork for advancements in EIC studies.
